The glo Hilo Amethyst is the cool purple jewel-tone option in the official manufacturer’s seven-colour glo Hilo lineup — the compact, single-piece all-in-one device of the next-generation HILO platform that replaces the older HYPER family. The amethyst finish reads as a deep, saturated violet — a more chromatic counterpoint to the all-black glo Hilo Onyx and a slightly warmer cool tone than the classic-blue glo Hilo Sapphire, paired with the standard Hilo button accent and AMOLED EasyView display shared across the entire line.

Inside, every Hilo colorway runs identical hardware: TurboStart dual heating (quartz/resistive plus infrared waves) brings a Virto or Rivo stick to its ~370 °C target in roughly 5 seconds, two session modes (Standard 5:10 / Boost 4:10) are selectable on the EasyView screen, and a full 90-minute USB-C charge delivers up to 20 sessions. At 76 g the Hilo body is roughly half the weight of an IQOS ILUMA Prime. Choice between Amethyst, Sapphire, Ruby, Onyx or any other gemstone colorway is purely aesthetic — internals are the same.

How to use

1. Charge the device fully over USB-C (about 90 minutes from empty).
2. Optionally pair with the myglo companion app (iOS / Android) to personalise the EasyView display, track sessions and enable remote lock or location.
3. Insert a Virto or Rivo stick, press the button to start TurboStart heating, and wait roughly 5 seconds for the readiness indicator before drawing.

Is glo Hilo Amethyst compatible with my sticks?

The glo Hilo Amethyst accepts only the new HILO-platform consumables: Virto (tobacco) and Rivo (rooibos, non-tobacco). It is not compatible with HYPER-family Demi-slim Neostiks (Neo Demi, Kent, Veo), with legacy glo Nano sticks, or with IQOS, lil SOLID, Pulze or Ploom sticks — the HILO chamber uses a shorter and thicker stick geometry that other systems do not share.

How does Amethyst differ from the other glo Hilo colourways?

Hardware is identical across every Hilo colorway — same 76 g body, same TurboStart 5-second heat-up, same 20 sessions per charge, same AMOLED EasyView screen and Virto/Rivo compatibility. The difference is purely visual: Amethyst is the cool, saturated violet jewel-tone option, sitting alongside the classic-blue glo Hilo Sapphire on the cool side of the palette, opposite the warm-red glo Hilo Ruby, and visibly more chromatic than the discreet all-black glo Hilo Onyx. Pick by colour preference — performance is the same.
