Ploom

Ploom is a heated tobacco platform built on HeatFlow: the stick is warmed inside a chamber by circulating hot air, never pierced by a blade and never carrying a metal element. Three generations share that design — Ploom AURA, Ploom X Advanced and Ploom X — and all three take the same sticks. Two stick ranges are made for them: Evo, with real tobacco, and Lyo, made without tobacco but containing nicotine.

How Ploom heats a stick

HeatFlow is the whole point of the platform: a chamber surrounds the stick and warms it with circulating hot air. No blade is driven into the tobacco and no metal element sits inside the stick, which is why compatibility is closed in both directions — a Ploom stick fits nothing else, and no other stick belongs in a Ploom chamber. Sticks made for IQOS, glo or lil devices are built around different heating methods.

The Ploom generations

  • Ploom AURA. The current flagship: SMART HeatFlow, four selectable heating modes and no buttons at all — heating begins when the stick goes in.
  • Ploom X Advanced. A refresh of the X body rather than a new platform, holding a steadier 320 °C profile across the session.
  • Ploom X. The generation that established the HeatFlow chamber and the fixed five-minute session.
  • Sticks carry over, accessories do not. A pack bought for one generation works in all three; the panels, covers and cases made for AURA do not fit the older, wider body.

Session length belongs to the device rather than to the stick: the selected mode sets it, roughly three to six minutes, with no puff limit inside that window. That is why the stick pages here quote no duration. Ploom TECH and TECH+ are a separate system with no stick chamber, and Ploom S has long been discontinued — anyone still using one should follow its own manual.

The sticks for these devices: Evo, filled with real tobacco, and Lyo, made without tobacco but containing nicotine. Neither line replaces the other.
