About Ploom AURA
Ploom AURA is the official manufacturer’s current heated tobacco device and the fourth generation of the Ploom platform, launched in Japan in May 2025 and in Europe that autumn. The heating principle is unchanged: a sealed Smart HeatFlow chamber circulates hot air around the outside of the stick — no blade, no metal element driven into the tobacco. What is new is the choice: Intense, Balanced and Delicate, plus a Battery Saver setting, are picked in the Ploom app, not on the device, and session length follows the mode — five minutes on the Balanced default, three in Battery Saver. There is no screen and no button: drop a stick in and heating starts by itself, ready in 25 seconds.

Which sticks does Ploom AURA use?
The device takes two stick ranges: Evo, filled with real tobacco, and Lyo, made without tobacco leaf but still containing nicotine and sold in selected markets. Both carry the CleanSeal barrier that keeps loose filler out of the chamber, and both run the same five-minute session in the factory Balanced mode.
How long does Ploom AURA last per charge?
The 1,975 mAh battery is rated for at least 20 sticks per charge at 25 °C, with the real count varying by mode and use; Battery Saver is rated at an estimated 27. A full charge over USB-C takes about 180 minutes, and 90 minutes covers roughly 15 sticks. Three sticks run back to back before a short cool-down.
